This site is an ongoing project. We have excerpted some of kat’s unpublished books and other writings. Down the road we hope to publish selections from her prolific and utterly delightful correspondence as well as portions of her journals, particularly her travel writing, which is mesmerizing.
We would be grateful for any feedback you have. Our friend kat wrote every day, and she was always making art. Let us know what you would like to see more of.

We are happy you came by! Kat’s spirit was so joyful and strong.
Just saw a flyer about Vancouver folk music festival. I’m in Seattle and in 1995 i recorded an open mike at the art bar. Kat K was one of the performers I met. We became friends
and I was able to crash at her apartment in Vancouver so I could
go to Vancouver Folk Music Festival.
At the time she had a boyfriend who was a musician played slide guitar.
She was working on songs and performing I believe the name of the
band was to be banana fish and was
active around Vancouver. Awesome
woman , I loaned her some microphones in case it might help her to perform or record . She returned
them to me by mail. I got busy ended up failing in music unfortunately.
Tonight sad to learn of Kat K has passed on , god bless you Kat.
